Windham employs over 85 international students a season
Every year, students from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, and Peru come to Windham and fill positions at the resort including instructors, snowmakers, lift operators, cooks, cashiers, and more.  The mountain provides their housing, transportation to work and shopping and even plans recreational trips to New York City. Kevin Kennedy, Director of Mountain Services and Human Resources flies to South America to recruit bright, energetic students to our program.

The answer is blowing in the wind
As a winter destination, we are acutely aware that even a slight elevation in temperature can alter the ski season. Windham Mountain has purchased enough clean wind energy to run three new lifts and the base lodge for the entire season. This will help reduce emissions that perpetuate global warming and other negative effects on the environment.  The resort has partnered with Community Energy, Inc. because of their commitment to open new wind farms such as the facility under construction in Herkimer, NY.
